I commend most affectionately and with absolute confidence each of my children to each and all of them, and I urge all of them all, so long as they or any of them have property, which is the gift and will of God they do, and each of them regard the circumstances of the others and supply the needs and comforts of life to each other, and, so long as they shall severally live, they, with steadfast determination, banish and overlook the things that separate (they are the fruit and offspring of frail and erring human nature), and that they cherish and maintain to the end love, affection and unity, in spite of everything of whatever kind and nature and description, that same love, affection and unity, which is necessary for true happiness, and permit nothing to come between them or separate them, and for myself in this document, which speaks my last word to those I love.
